The most frequently used wastewater purification technologies are:

• Biological purification: activated sludge process, biological oxidation by contact, biological disc, etc.
• Chemical-physical purification: treatment by adsorption with activated carbon, ozone oxidation and disinfection methods, ion exchange processes, dosing of precipitation agents, etc.
